Welcome to the online teacher training programme. We have developed this course for you in order to equip you with skills necessary to deliver competence-based curricula. As TVET teachers you are the most important players in the TVET system through your work teaching and interacting with students. It is important that you learn various aspects of teaching competence-based curricula while taking account the needs of learners to turn the theory of competence-based education and training ( CBET ) into practice. This learning programme is made up of six ( 6 ) modules that will equip you with the required knowledge and skills to help your learners to achieve their goals. This programme will allow you to develop your expertise in delivering training and assessing students’ learning. We have also included modules providing insights on modern teaching approaches associated with areas such as; promoting inclusion and the utilisation of pedagogic technology.
Who to attend this course
The course is intended for those who are teaching or planning to teach in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.
At the end of this course, trainees (TVET teachers) will acquire necessary skills in delivering competence-based curricula and assessment
Specific Objectives of the course include;
- Equipping learners (TVET teachers) with skills necessary for teaching their students
- Equipping learners with an understanding of key delivery areas, such as embedding gender and social inclusion values, and approaches to effective mentorship
- Understanding of TVET teacher registration processes
The modules have been developed through a consultative process, embedding input from subject matter experts from various organizations. The training course will be delivered through 6 key modules in 12 weeks. Each module is divided in units and each unit consists of learning sessions. The training course will be delivered through 6 key 12 weeks modules:
- Guidance, Counseling and Mentorship for Career Development
- Integrating Gender and Disability Inclusion Facilitation Learning
- Interpreting Competence Based Curriculum for Effective Implementation
- Facilitating Learning Process in CBET
- Using Information Communication Technology in Teaching and Learning
- Assessment of Learning in Competence Based Education and Training
This programme uses a learner centered, blended learning approach (online and face-to-face) delivered through interactive and engaging activities and mediums, including: video, audio, learning activities, lesson notes, quizzes, and self-assessment. To help clarify any questions, learners will be provided with a facilitator for each module. You will also have access to a discussion forum where you can discuss with your fellow learners and/or facilitators. At the end of the online course, you will be required to attend face-face sessions in a local training center.
You will take all of these modules in the order in which they are listed here. Only when you have achieved the minimum mark for each module will be able to progress to the next one. If you fail to pass a module, your facilitator will help you with extra support to you so that you better placed to succeed at the next attempt. Once you have completed and passed all the course assessments you will be issued with a certificate which will enable you be registered as TVET Teacher.

Tuition Fees
Sum of TZS …. will be paid by each learner for the cost of training.
The fee will be paid directly to the training center.
